Real summer in Paris

Weather has been very warm for the past few days with temperature reaching to a high of 36 degree C today. This is real summer! I still remember we went to London last year around this time of year and we had to wear a pullover most of the time.

Today also marks the end of the Brevet examination which my son Harris is taking. Brevet is equivalent to the British GCSE and the Malaysian SPM. The papers he had sat over the last 2 days are French, Maths ,combined History Geography & Education Civic. The exam results are weighted & added to the year round results on all class work of tests & assignments. Harris has an average of 17.2 ( or 86 marks out of 100) from the 13 subjects on class work ( to score top grade one needs 16 (80 marks). He seemed to be very happy with his exam papers and it looks like he has a good chance for top grade. For 13A's I wonder if he can qualify for a Malaysian scholarship??

Florence my daughter has done well too and it will be her turn for Brevet 2 years from now. Thank God for His unending loving kindness. Amen!

I call them faithful

Its season for sunflowers!
I like to plant some sunflowers in my tiny garden to usher in the summer. They are very easy to grow.
I have learned a few things about them that we as Christians may take to heart.

1) Unique
Sunflower has a unique feature you can't mistake it for another flower. Its large distinctive bright yellow pedals can be spotted from afar. Its like a big smiling face. Just as the sunflower is unique, everyone of us is also unique. The Bible says we are all made in the image & likeness of God. That's the distinctive human feature.

2) Faithful

The sunflowers follow the sun! Yes, they are the reliable faithful lot. We Christians will do well to just follow Jesus Christ our Savior & Lord. Remember Jesus said " My sheep hear My voice"?

3) Productive

Eventually the sunflower will leave behind a large head of seeds. I have been using seeds from the same crop for the last 7 years! As Christians, we should also be productive bearing witness what Jesus Christ has done & is doing in our life. That we may spread peace that surpass all understanding even in this perilous time.

Easy like Sunday morning!!!! Praise God forever more!!!
