Strasbourg 21/05/2009

France still celebrates The Ascension - The Christian doctrine of the Ascension holds that Jesus ascended to heaven in the presence of his Eleven Apostles following his resurrection, and that in heaven he sits at the right hand of God the Father.

We took the long weekend and made a trip to the East of France in the infamous region - the Black Forest. We have chosen 2 of the cities to visit - the French Strasbourg & the German heidelberg.

Strasbourg is about 500km from Paris. We made a casual stop over midway at Reims - the Champagne city.

Reims Cathedrale

Most notable of the Cathederale is this smiling angel

Strasbourg is just a stone throw away now. Notice the other very unfrench wordings?

Etap hotel makes a good budget choice - 37 euros for a room for 3 persons.
