The first of these horses is "Der Silver Grey" (Saucony Progrid Triumph 5). If you think its predecessor "Der Orange Thunder" - Triumph 4 is intimidating, well Der SG is every bit more mean looking. It reminds me of the most feared ancient Japanese Warriors in their full battle outfits.
I took the horse out for a gentle gallop round the 8km medium circuit this morning and discovered in absolute delight that this 380 grams stallion has performed way beyond my expectation.
It is very comfortable & you can feel the gentle cushioning effect on your knees. This horse is incredibly silent despite the weight. The toe box is roomy and Ccube is right to have recommended half a size larger for this particular breed.
After a 42min02 on the 8km trail, I still feel very fresh & the legs are eager to go for more but I say hold your horses & call it an early day. Lets wait and see how it will measure up on a 20km trail..........Heeyah.... heeyah!
